Compared to its previous generation, the TS-873AeU-RP is enhanced with two M.2 PCIe Gen3 x 1 ports for NVMe SSD cache acceleration or Edge TPU empowered AI image recognition. Cutting-edge hardware integrated with comprehensive software solutions makes the TS-873AeU-RP the preeminent choice to tackle resource-demanding applications and tasks, such as virtual machines or intensive multi-user access. The space-efficient short depth design of only 11.7 inches (297.4 mm) makes it easy to install in small media cabinets or places with a lot of cabling. The TS-873AeU-RP also features two redundant power supplies to ensure maximum system uptime.

The TS-873AeU-RP supports block-based iSCSI LUN as a reliable, high-performance, and affordable storage solution for mainstream virtualization environments. It supports VMware® VAAI and Microsoft® ODX to increase performance by offloading server loading for ESXi server and Hyper-V respectively.
The iSCSI Extensions for RDMA (iSER) protocol boosts the data transfer performance of VMware® ESXi storage and reduces the CPU load of the ESXi server. iSER support can be added to the TS-873AeU-RP by installing a QNAP QXG-10G2SF-CX4 10GbE PCIe card, which uses the Mellanox® ConnectX-4 controller. iSER can provide a significant increase in performance, providing an essential tool to optimize demanding virtualization applications.
Note: To create an iSER connection with VMware ESXi, both the server and NAS require compatible Mellanox® NICs and switches compatible with Mellanox® or supporting PFC (Priority Flow Control) configuration.

The TS-873AeU-RP supports block-based snapshots that record the state of the system at any time. It helps protect data, which can be restored back to a specific point of time, greatly helping in mitigating the threat of ransomware.
Take snapshots in seconds and revert the entire volume/LUN back to a specific point in time to prevent loss of important data.
Snapshot content can be quickly restored to a local NAS, or restored on a folder/file basis to a local/remote NAS or cloud storage. You can also conveniently view and restore snapshots from the client side.

The selected drives are batch controlled and tested using our HDD and SSD servers. Passed drives are then installed in the NAS with Volume and RAID set. Our pre-burn testing prepares the NAS with an initial system and drive testing cycle to ensure that the integrity of the entire system is tested and passed with no issues at all.
Our stress testing (burn-test) cycle commences for a minimum of 24 hours and extends to 48 hours if requested or required. This is undertaken in order to ensure stability when used in a normal environment. These tests can include extremes of workload (constant I/O's), CPU and memory use, thermal load (heat), clock speed, or voltages, bus and connectivity components, with the primary stress testing software aiming to test stability by trying to force a system to fail. Our tests put a greater emphasis on robustness, availability and error handling heavy loads.
