The Micron 5210 ION is the world's first SSD to market with ground-breaking quad-level cell (QLC) technology, delivering fast capacity for less. Optimized for real-time analytics, big data, media streaming, block/object, SQL/NoSQL, and the data lakes that feed AI and machine learning, the Micron 5210 turns analysis into action.

Micron® 5210 ION

The first SSD to challenge hard drives head-on is here. As the world's first SSD built on ground-breaking quad-level cell (QLC) NAND technology, the Micron 5210 ION delivers fast capacity for less. Designed for the workloads of today and tomorrow – real-time analytics, big data, media streaming, block/object, SQL/NoSQL, and the data lakes that feed AI and machine learning – the Micron 5210 SSD accelerates analysis into action. Freed from the confines of hard drive technology, storage architectures can now move to speed and scale, enabling greater infrastructure flexibility and data intelligence. Welcome to the future.

Micron® 5210 ION

Endless insight. Deep learning. Speed reading

Before the age of AI, data center read-to-write ratios1 were typically 4:1. Now it's more like 5,000:1 and solutions to problems are increasingly found in the patterns data makes. Whether you're querying a 10TB SQL database, streaming content and adjusting to traffic, or analyzing daily transactions to tune your business model, real-time speed reading is key. Machines can only learn as fast as they can read and analyze data.

Huge data sets. Massive opportunity. Micron QLC SSDs.

Capacities on the Micron 5210 SSD start in terabytes, not gigabytes. That's intentional. QLC technology allows you to store 33% more bits per cell. Cull oceans of data for answers with the affordable power of the Micron 5210 SSD – all while writing lots of data.2 You can also adjust the drive's endurance and write performance with our innovative Flex Capacity™ feature to meet the needs of ever-evolving workloads.

Spin struggles. You don't have to.

Compared to the largest 10K RPM HDDs available, the Micron® 5210 ION delivers 175x faster random reads, 30x faster random writes, and 2x faster throughput.3 It's also 3x more energy efficient, fueling a lower terabyte-to-terabyte total cost of ownership. Compared to 3.5-inch 7200 RPM HDDs, you can pack twice as many 2.5-inch Micron 5210 SSDs into a typical 2U rack to save on power, cooling, licenses, and floor space.4 How much are your racks costing you?

Micron quality: from silicon to system.

Better SSDs come from better NAND. Period. From silicon to system, we create the memory and flash storage that powers the data center and makes your workloads faster, more reliable, more efficient, and more cost-effective. With the world's first QLC SSD and the industry's broadest SATA SSD portfolio, Micron drives are available in all major options and configurations to meet your storage needs

Micron® 5210 ION

The Micron 5210 was the world's first QLC SSD to be shipped and sold (21 May 2018).

    • Endurance varies by workload and drive capacity – see endurance table in this document for additional workload-specific information.
    • Based on public datasheet values for the 1.92TB Micron 5210 SSD (70,000 IOPS random reads, 13,000 IOPS random writes) and SNIA PTSe IOPS industry-standard test results on 2.4TB 10k hybrid HDDs (rounded up to 400 IOPS for both random reads and writes). Actual performance may vary. QM2 - Upgrade your QNAP NAS Experience with M.2 SSD Caching and 10G in One Card

QM2 is designed specifically to upgrade your entry and mid-end QNAP NAS system! QNAP puts 2 M.2 SSD slots (SATA or PCIe NVMe) and one 10GBase-T network port into a single PCIe expansion card. Installed M.2 SSD sticks are covered by a giant heatsink as well as a smart fan for heat dissipation which ensure operational stability and longevity. With this PCIe expansion card, you can enable SSD Caching or auto tiering while populate all your NAS bays with high capacity HDD!

Application for QM2 SSD slots:

  1. Create a volume on these SSD and use them as extra storage
  2. Enable Read Cache
  3. Enable Read/Write Cache
  4. Enable Qtier feature
  5. Boost performance in case of memory swapping

What is Qbit?

Configured system orders start here!
The selected drives are batch controlled and tested using our HDD and SSD servers. Passed drives are then installed in the NAS with Volume and RAID set. Our pre-burn testing prepares the NAS with an initial system and drive testing cycle to ensure that the integrity of the entire system is tested and passed with no issues at all.

Our stress testing (burn-test) cycle commences for a minimum of 24 hours and extends to 48 hours if requested or required. This is undertaken in order to ensure stability when used in a normal environment. These tests can include extremes of workload (constant I/O's), CPU and memory use, thermal load (heat), clock speed, or voltages, bus and connectivity components, with the primary stress testing software aiming to test stability by trying to force a system to fail. Our tests put a greater emphasis on robustness, availability and error handling heavy loads.

Once the tests are complete we QA and pack the system back into it's retail box. Then it's double boxed to protect the unit during shipping. You receive your QNAP NAS Ready To Plug 'N' Store. It doesn't get any easier. Buy your NAS from the QNAP EXPERTS at QNAP DIRECT.
